Escanaba-based singer/storyteller Bill Jamerson will present an hour-long musical tribute to Michigan lumberjacks on Friday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Harrisville Harbor Pavilion. With guitar in hand and dressed in costume, Jamerson sings traditional lumberjack songs and tells stories about life in the lumber camps on this musical journey through the daily life of a lumberjack. This program is free and open to the public, co-sponsored by the Alcona County Library and the Alcona Historical Society. Please bring a lawn chair. All ages are invited to attend either of two presentations by Classroom Critters on Wednesday, August 2 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library. Live animals will be featured, showing the specialized bodies and tools needed to survive. Animals are presented for viewing and touching in this child-friendly program. Flying Aces Pro Frisbee Team performs feats of aerial dexterity with a variety of incredible Frisbees and hackysacks on the lawn of the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library on Wednesday, July 26 at 1:30 p.m. This unique program is filled with excitement, humor and spectacular athletic tricks.
