The Community Walking Club meets at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library at 8:30 a.m. every Thursday for a one or two mile walk around town, followed by coffee and snacks. Everyone is invited to walk with the group (check with your health care professional to be sure you can walk 20 to 40 minutes on pavement). Fitness with friends is fun! No one walks alone; there are groups of slow, medium and speedy walkers. The Community Walking Club meets every Thursday the Library is open, all year around. We walk in any kind of weather except thunderstorms and ice storms. In the winter, we wear treads on our shoes or boots for safety (available at most sporting goods stories). For more information, call 989-724-6796.
The Harrisville Branch of Alcona County Library will be closed the week of December 4th-11th to replace the building's lighting. We are upgrading to brighter and more efficient LED fixtures to better serve the public! Any items due that week will have overdue fines cancelled.
Mikado, Lincoln, and Caledonia Township branches will remain open as usual. Thanks for your patience!
